SUSTAINABILITY REPORT IMG

In collaboration with Green Growth Asia Foundation (GGAF), BOH supported Eco-Schools Malaysia by engaging 5 Eco-Schools in Cameron Highlands to strengthen sustainability education and empower students to take tangible action for the environment.

Through the Sip For Sustainabili-TEA initiative, BOH engaged communities across Malaysia to be part of this shared social empowerment movement. Across stores nationwide, 100,000 boxes of BOH teabags carried the Sip For Sustainabili-TEA message – each one a reminder that small actions can create meaningful change. For every pack purchased, RM2 was channelled directly to Eco-Schools Malaysia. BOH also launched an additional two-phase social pledge engagement where every “like” generated a RM2 contribution.

As of October 2025 and April 2026, 4 of the above schools have achieved Green Flag status, a prestigious internationally recognised accreditation symbolising excellence in environmental education and sustainability management. This was made possible by community-sponsorship of projects such as:

(i) Rainwater Harvesting Initiatives significantly reducing reliance on treated water while transforming the school grounds into a living classroom for sustainable development

(ii) 3R Initiatives to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle waste and cultivate values of consumer awareness and extended producer responsibility

(iii) Hydroponic infrastructure to incorporate agriculture with hands-on learning, emphasizing food security and self-sufficiency

An Eco-Schools Sports Day was held on 11 May 2026 to further foster mutual cooperation and community between the Eco-Schools, with a turnout of almost 100 students from 8 schools. This initiative reinforced a zero-waste mindset among students by encouraging practical waste-reduction solutions such as reuse, proper disposal and mindful consumption for future celebrations as well.
